Meet Skye: The Suitcase with Big Dreams

If you’ve ever watched a child gaze out an airplane window with wonder in their eyes, then you already understand Skye.

Skye is the heart and hero of Skye Takes Flight! — a cheerful, curious suitcase with wheels ready to roll and a spirit built for adventure. She may look like an ordinary piece of luggage at first glance, but Skye is anything but ordinary.

She dreams of seeing the world.

Who Is Skye?

Skye is a suitcase who believes that every journey matters. She loves airports buzzing with excitement, airplanes soaring through the clouds, and the thrill of discovering new places. More than anything, she wants to be part of something bigger than herself.

Like many children, Skye feels both excited and a little nervous about the unknown. She wonders:

• What’s on the other side of this trip?

• Will I be brave enough?

• Will I make friends along the way?

Through her adventures, Skye learns that courage doesn’t mean being fearless — it means rolling forward even when you’re unsure.

Why a Suitcase?

As a working flight attendant, I’ve spent years watching suitcases travel the world alongside families, children, and dreamers. Suitcases quietly witness reunions, vacations, first flights, and brand-new beginnings.

I wanted to give that silent companion a voice.

By turning a suitcase into a character, children are invited to see travel — and change — from a fresh perspective. Skye shows young readers that even when you’re packed up and headed somewhere unfamiliar, wonderful things can happen.
