I’m Evelyn Starr, a children’s book author and working flight attendant who believes that the best stories are born from adventure, curiosity, and a little bit of magic tucked into everyday moments.
High above the clouds and all around the world, I’ve watched children press their faces to airplane windows, dreaming about where the journey might lead. Those moments inspired my debut children’s picture book, Skye Takes Flight!—a heartwarming, imaginative story about a brave little suitcase named Skye who discovers that travel is about more than destinations… it’s about friendship, courage, and finding where you belong.
Skye Takes Flight! is written especially for curious kids ages 4–9 who love airplanes, travel, and big dreams. Through playful storytelling and whimsical characters, young readers are invited into a world where suitcases have personalities, airports feel magical, and every journey holds the promise of adventure. Parents, teachers, and librarians love the story’s gentle lessons about confidence, independence, and embracing new experiences.
As both a flight attendant and an author, I bring real-world travel experiences into my storytelling. From bustling terminals to faraway destinations, my books celebrate exploration while helping children feel excited—not nervous—about new places and changes.
